I'm going to spend 3 days in Sydney; what should i see?

So i have a total of 9 days to see these three beautiful cities....i was thinking 3 days in each city. I will be going in December which would make it summer there.

In Sydney, i was hoping to see:

Sydney Harbour and Opera House (not climb the bridge cuz apparently its too expensive)

City Centre

Kings Cross

Bondi Beach

Darling harbour

Chatswood

What other places should i see in Sydney...also where are the best nightclubs/bars/entertaintment? Also, I wanted a hotel/motel that would be really cheap since I'd be out all day so which/where would be the best hotels/motels?

It's very important to stay in the city, that way you can party hard and then catch a cab back to your hotel. I personally recommend Wakeup Backpackers, rooms are neat plus you'll meet heaps of people down at the Side Bar. Book in advance coz they're always busy during summer. Otherwise there is the YHA Hotel down the road. They're both on George St right on front of Central station where you can catch a train to the Blue Mountains. You can also walk or catch a bus to Darling Harbour (where you'll find a few posh bars %26amp; restaurants), Cir Quay (catch the ferry to Manly, it's worth it), Paddington (where all the clubs are. Watch out for gey bars, unless you are into that kind of thing). You can't miss going to Bondi beach too which is close to Paddington, but make sure to pump some weights before you go coz there are a lot of hotties around.

The smart thing to do is to plan some day activities close by, go bank to your hotel, make yoursef slinky and then party hard all night. Plan also a few things in case it rains (like going shopping to Chatswood Chase or Bondi Westfield).

Last word of advice; some tour companies will try to get you drunk first and then suck as much money from you as possible so I would avoid them. But it doesn't hurt going to a travel desk and pickup a few brouchers in case you run out of toilet paper.

Have a blast man %26amp; peace out!

You won't be able to see all of those places in only three days.

Don't bother going to Chatswood.

In one day you should go to the city, then you can see the harbour bridge, Opera House and Luna Park. Yes climbing the bridge is expensive but its totally worth it.

Maybe you could go to Manly? You can get a ferry from the city (near the opera house) across straight to Manly beach. That's pretty nice there and they have shopping too.

Kings Cross has good nightclubs but I'm not sure about hotels.

Have fun =] =]
Re: hotels - do you want a backpacker type hotel or a proper room of your own? Book something on the internet, definitely cheaper.

You can check 3dworld.com.au for some cool clubs in the city.

I wouldn't bother going to Chatswood - nothing there except some shops, if you want to do some shopping in the city go to the Pitt St Mall.
Head out west to the Blue Mtns

Don't bother going to Chatswood. Nothing interesting there.
The Metro Inn at Edgecliff is 89 dollars for a double room and you can easily get into the city by train( Edgecliff/Kings Cross/Martin Place or further would be Town Hall and Central) or by Bus 324 to Circular Quay from outside the railways station. Edgecliff is in the eastern suburbs, and you can easily get to Kings Cross,Bondi Beach ,Double Bay.

In 3 days I would suggest that you catch the Ferry to Manly. A lovely place and you get good photo shots of the Bridge and the Opera House.Walk around Circular Quay and The Rocks area and go to Darling Harbour. You should do a day tour to The Blue Mountains see www.sydneytoursrus.com for a great day out.

In the city centre go to The Strand Arcade and the QV building.

Other places to see and do are: Botanical Gardens,The Aquarium, Oxford Street the Gay Quarter/Hyde Park and Hyde Park Barracks or take another ferry to Watson's Bay for the famous Doyles Fish and Chips Have a lovely time

For a great view of Sydney at night go at dusk to the Shangri La Hotel in the Rocks to the bar on the 35th Floor for the best view of the Bridge and Opera House in Sydney. You do not have to be staying at the hotel.

You don't say what other cities you are visiting?
With only 3 days in Sydney you need to be really efficient with your time. The Sydney Red Explorer is the best way to do this. These buses go around a circle visiting 27 top sights in Sydney. You can jump on / jump off all day for AU$34. Pick the places you want to see, get off for 20 or 40 or 60 minutes etc then get back on another bus. There is another one that goes out Bondi way. Definately catch the local ferries - they're cheap and you get out on the harbour which is a great way to see the harbour.
NORTHERN BEACHES.

(manly, palm beach)

its amazing.
